Projects
Lentil as Anything is a unique not for profit community organisation. We operate as a restaurant, where customers give what they feel the food is worth and have the opportunity to donate towards the philosophy.
In this setting we provide free food to countless, isolated people who have very limited resources. Social integration is the guiding principal behind Lentil – as is, modelling and supporting a diverse, multicultural community that practices trust and generosity. Lentil has provided unique training and educational opportunities for many people who are struggling to find a place in mainstream institutions.
Currently, it provides a place for over a hundred new migrants, refugees, people with disabilities and long-term unemployed to build confidence, gain skills and receive assistance with access to legal, health, housing and education services. In addition to running the sites, we provide crisis accommodation, English tutoring, counselling services, legal advice, homework assistance, and driving lessons.
