Iconic vegetarian restaurant Lentil as Anything is looking for a dynamic Catering Manager, who will be both the main cook and event manager for all of our catering in Victoria. This is a great opportunity to join a team of socially responsible change makers who share a passion for providing great vegetarian and vegan food in a busy, high energy, colourful and fun environment.


You should have at least two years experience in the industry.  Have excellent people skills and written english and be passionate about representing Lentil as Anything. You will need to be comfortable and able to work unsupervised and plan all the details and logistics for big and small catering events.  We will be looking to you to grow the catering business and make great things happen. Personal drive, passion for your work, a deep love of cooking, a positive and unstoppable attitude, strong stamina and proven commitment are all qualities we are looking for in our next Catering Manager.


Responsibilities include:
Responding to catering inquiries and assessing the feasibility and profitability of a job at a glance.
Organising events, this includes: acquisition of required council permits, liasing with the restaurant Head Chef and kitchen staff to organise and coordinate staff and rosters for events, hiring equipment, designing incredible menus.
Cook exceptional vegetarian and vegan menus and finger food while working within a tight budget.
Problem solving and creative thinking to execute catering jobs in unusual situations and locations.
Able to work in an already busy and tight kitchen with minimal impact and at unusual hours.


Skills required:
Event management experience is a must
Commercial cooking experience on a large scale is essential.
Ability to plan logistics and cook for catering jobs feeding 20 - 500 people
Excellent people skills and written english.
An ability to plan, manage and work independently and creatively as well as communally.
